What if we never committed to American Made?
Well, for starters, we wouldn't have built the relationships we have today. Through the decade plus in business, our partners have grown with us. We've become friends. They've congratulated us on our kids, sent wedding cards, and we've shared in loss and hardship together. We've picked them up in rough times, they've done it for us. It's the American way. The relationships we've built embodies the spirit that built this country through good and bad.
It's just a no brainer
We are a patriotic brand. We hold many of the same American values you all do. How can we claim to be what we are but import clothing from a country we share nothing in common with? No, that's cheating. Plenty of brands do it, not us. The core of our line will always be built here in the USA, no exceptions. Imagine a patriotic t-shirt with a tag that says "Made in China". To be honest, I just can't do it.
The Economic Impact
Beyond the obvious, as we've stated above, the economic impact is massive. While most are "designing and printing" here in the states, we do it the right way, we go above and beyond that. We employ people here to physically weave the fabrics, dye them, cut & sew them. It layers in a whole other economic world that wouldn't exist if we just took the easy road and imported our apparel.
The reach goes well beyond local prints shops decorating apparel, we manufacture things. We are awaking a sleeping giant that once stood proud in America, the garment industry.
But it ain't easy
We hit a lot of walls. For one, our offering is not as vast as the imported guys. The financial commitment to produce a "from scratch" item is 30X that of grabbing an imported example and running with it. A good example is our flannel, we worked on that for a year. Labor is often a struggle. Finding qualified people to do something that is sort of a lost art, it's not easy.
But it's so worth it
We wouldn't have it any other way. To be brutally honest. If you told me to source an imported sweatshirt for our brand, I wouldn't even know where to start. American made is what we know, that'll never change.
