How Our Shirts Are Made
Making A T-Shirt In The USA
For well over a decade we've been manufacturing t-shirts here in the USA. We've built an ecosystem of American jobs with the mission of ensuring every shirt is built here in the USA by an American worker.
How Our Made In USA Everyday Shirt Is Made
- Spools of yarn are woven into rolls of fabric, here in America. Fabric mills are their own entities, with their own employees, a process that would be overseas without a commitment to Made in USA.
- A dye house is then contracted to take that fabric and achieve our desired color. This process can fall in different areas of production depending on how we plan the shirt run, but one thing remains the same, dyed in the USA!
- Patterns are created to achieve the desired fit and sizing for the shirt. These patterns also lay out each part on a roll of fabric to reduce waste and utilize the fabric in the most efficient manner.
- Each part of the shirt is then cut out of that roll of fabric. Some cutters are manual, some are similar to a CNC machine. Those parts are then labeled, stacked, and prepped to transport.
- Sewing is the step where the shirt becomes a shirt. In our process, our shirts are sewn locally via a network of American manufacturers who've proven their quality and detail. Once a shirt is sewn, it's bundled, boxed, and shipped to us.
- Decoration is the final step. For our Made In USA Everyday shirts, we leave them blank. For our American Graphic Tees, we transport to our local print shop we've used for over a decade. They apply the design, put it on a box truck, and drop it back off where our warehouse picks, packs, and ships the order to you.
But wait, there's more to building a shirt in the USA!
The above process is an overview. In between every step you see listed, there are even more roles and workers who play a part in our mission. Below are few other major steps bringing our shirts to life, all a job kept here in the USA.
- Logistics to and from facilities
- Warehousing
